Owner, Payton Morgan, started with a drive to work on diesels far before this in his hometown of Wake Forest, North Carolina. He was often found in the garage working with his dad on their Yamaha dirt bikes or his friends trucks, always trying to push the boundaries of their performance. From there his desire to understand the inner workings of engines expanded into the aviation world as he joined the U.S. Marines Corp and began mechanically maintaining and overseeing a fleet of K C130J aircrafts. He performed duties from building propellers to quality inspection as a “CDQAR” Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative for both engines and propellers. After 5 years in the Military, Payton decided to pursue his old passion of diesels and moved to Houston, TX to begin attending Universal Technical Institute. There he obtained his Diesel Certification with his specialty being in Duramax and Cummins while also setting dyno records, building a truck with the highest HP as well as highest torque with his well known Chevy 2500. While attending UTI, Payton worked at Classic Chevy with his small start up company on the side, now known as Zero Tolerance Diesel.
As Payton pursues his passion, his talents for the inner workings of diesel engines and transmissions is noticed by many, pushing him to move into a larger shop to meet the demand of his new found customer base. From this new location, the shop begins to take off. By word of mouth, Payton earns his reputation of being a fair, honest and talented mechanic and shop owner. His knowledge base grows as he takes on different challenges presented by customers, each challenge gifting him the opportunity to learn something new. He continues to pursue his passion for performance, pushing trucks to their limit and innovating ways to push past them. Overtime, other gifted mechanics decide to join the ZTD family as they grow their own abilities and the shop truly begins to become what it is today. The shop has done what most shops have not been able to, which is maintain a solid reputation of honesty and integrity, while also keeping quality of work top notch. The shop stands behind their workmanship, building their own in house transmission and engines covered by the ZTD warranty. Whether a customer wants steady and reliable or faster and wilder, they can do it all in house while maintaining an unsurpassed quality.
Today, Payton and the Zero Tolerance Diesel team are pushing into the high horsepower world, aiming to compete with the top contenders of the diesel industry with a few of their own built in house race trucks.
Today, Zero Tolerance Diesel is excited to announce their new location 10 minutes away from the current shop in Pattision, TX just outside of Katy, TX. This shop will reside on a 10 acre track allowing for unlimited expansion into multiple facets such as in house machining, high end off-road products, performance building, alongside their tried and true mechanic work. Zero Tolerance Diesel will upgrade from the current 1 bay, 2,400 sq foot shop, to a 4 bay 7,800 sq foot shop with some of the latest and greatest in diesel mechanical repairs and performance tools. Keep a close eye out for more big things to come as we take root and expand, providing you with all your diesel needs.
